Everyone has questions here and there. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions we’ve experienced out in the field while we’re working. I hope you find the answer you’re looking for.

  1. Are you a licensed electrical contractor? Answer: Yes. I am licensed through the City of Allentown, Pa. I also have my home improvement contractor’s license.
  2. Are you insured? Answer: Yes. I am fully insured.
  3. How much experience do you have? Answer: I’ve been doing electrical work for 28+ years. I have experience in commercial, light industrial, and residential applications.
  4. Can you pull permits? Answer: Yes, I can. I have a master’s electrician license which allows me to pull permits for any job.
  5. Do you provide free estimates? Answer: Yes, I do. I never charge for estimates.
  6. Will I get a written estimate or proposal? Answer: Yes. I usually give customers a written estimate. Usually, through an email.
  7. How much money do I have to put down before The Dorky Electrician, LLC starts my project? Answer: I usually ask for 1/3 of the total estimate as a down payment. Sometimes 50%.
  8. When will my work be started? Answer: At the earliest date I can schedule you for that current month or at your request, a later date.
  9. When will my work be completed? Answer: Promptly or ASAP.
  10. Do you clean up after working on my project? Answer: Yes. We always clean up before we leave your home or facility for the day. When your project is complete, we make sure things are neat before we leave.
  11. If you have to cut holes in my drywall, do you repair or patch the holes? Answer: Yes. I feel if I have to create an access hole, I should be the one that should patch it. This prevents the customer from having to call in a separate drywall contractor to come in to make the repairs.
