The Dorky Electrician Then
Hi. My name is Russ “The Dorky Electrician”. I’ve always found an interest in the natural power of electricity and what it can provide.
Back when I was a kid, my father would teach me a lot of basics about electricity. Being able to work with his hands and knew a lot about a lot of stuff. He taught me how to build things that I wanted to build for myself.
My dad was into trains, guitars, and cabinet making. So, a lot of those things rubbed off on me. Especially the small but significant lessons about electricity he taught me. At one time, he showed me how to build a telegraph transmitter with a scrap piece of steel banding, a piece of wood, and an electromagnet using a model train transformer to transmit morse code.
The Dorky Electrician now
Into the future and years later. I now have plenty of experience working with electricity and figuring out why and how it stops working. Twenty-eight plus years of experience and counting as a field service electrician. I had multiple jobs working as an electrical apprentice and journeyman for years under a handful of electrical contractors.
Working my butt off installing new services, high voltage underground power cables, and transformers at McGuire Airforce Base. I’ve also worked on Fort Bragg, and even in the airplane hangar where the Hindenburg blimp was stored in Lakehurst, NJ.
Moving on from there, I worked for a small family-owned electrical contractor in Flemington, NJ. The work environment included different atmospheres such as commercial buildings, car dealerships, residential homes, and office buildings.
Now, here I am in Coplay, PA. Having obtained my license as a Master Electrician with the City of Allentown, PA.
With the help of my wife, this has motivated me. I have formed my own electrical contracting business known as “The Dorky Electrician, LLC”. This has enabled me to continue my career in the electrical field.
Ultimately, my goal is to help as many people as I can with their electrical problems, renovations, and electrical projects. Although my main goal is to most of all to provide for my family.
By all means, please feel free to contact me any time you’re interested in having any type of electrical work done. Thanks for taking an interest.
